Thanksgiving
hm… Woke up to watch the parade. Marching bands as a whole this year decided to sound good and be in tune, but not play loud. Exceptions being my band and Shaw (they were kinda quiet this year, though). So I sat in the living room not being totally impressed. To be fair, it’s 10 AM on break, nobody’s enthusiastic then. And some bands have 5AM rehearsals, try living after that.
So from roughly noon till 4 I had nothing to do. Passed time the usual way, IM, icanhascheezburger, anime, that good stuff. Went over to my aunts just like every year, family conversations are something else. I was bored a lot cause the football game was on, halftime is so dull compared to what high schools and colleges have. That turkey, however, had my full attention. The vegan that my parents are forcing me to be was locked away and told to go fuck a landmine. There was some family controversy about the absence of chocolate pudding pie, it’s implied in the word “thanksgiving” that my dad makes it, we shouldn’t request it, we should just eat it.
Back at my place, some pool games were played between me, my dad, and my brother. The last game of cut throat was won by an epic shot by yours truly. Some conversation on why my sister is never around for thanksgiving was brought up, we touched my brother’s nerves at dinner by mentioning her. You gotta vent somehow.
Finally, I’m without company (that sounds sad for some reason), back to IMing by non-biological brother, looking around at what came up on Tumblr and facebook, then I got ambushed by my friend who just got back home from out-of-state.
Pretty good day, tomorrow I’m gettin my band family to hang out, so that’s even better.
