Maybe I’ll get to see other euphs perform, it’ll be interesting to see how good other musicians are in comparison. This will be it, my years of getting better at playing, the months I spent learning the solo, all the hours of practicing, the recital in band today (went quite well, I gots a fanbase) .. it leads up to this.

I never tried to master a song before, dedicating much time, even having pain involved in my practices (not on purpose..), not having a regular lunch all week, those power- pracices is the string storage room, range building, chromatic scales..Soon I’ll see just how much it has payed off.

I’m the hipster cat of EHS marching and concert band. Not only do all of my bandmates think I play baritone (lol wtf why would I play that?), but they don’t understand that euphonium is different. Shit, most euphonist and baritonists don’t know the difference.

All the other sections are flooded with people, so much that we can have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd on almost every instrument. If I run into a divisi I havta generate a clone of myself so all the notes can be hit. And playing quietly? Too mainstream. If my lungs don’t explode by measure 5 I’m not playing loud enough.

I’m also switching to tuba so I can go lower (under staff).
