The U.S. Army All American Marching Band.
I never really explained this, so here it goes- The USAAAMB is an “all-star” marching band made up of high school seniors from across the USA. The audition process starts in your junior year, with audition videos and application due in May. You’ll be notified if you make it in June. The band is said to be composed of some of the best marching musicians in the country, with the staff having ties to many colleges, drum and bugle corps, and the US Army Field Band.
Then, on the first week of 2013, (Cause I know I’ll make it) I fly out to San Antonio, Texas, where over the course of 4 days, I learn a corps style halftime show for the US Army All American Bowl, a game of the best high school senior football players in the country. The halftime show will be broadcast live on the internet, I’ll be sure to post the link granted I have internet access at the hotel.
If anyone is interested, you can learn more/find audition material here.
